I just wanted to extend a hearty-hi-ho to the good folks who attended the ExperiPro Business Growth Summit this evening. I was the first speaker and did a presentation on social media and how it can be used to drive sales. (Yes, it can be done! I promise!)
It was such an exciting, dynamic crowd, with great food and even better company. (Maybe it helps that Chivas Regal was a sponsor?) My thanks to my friend and colleague Jeff Brady of the Brady Media Group for his thought-provoking and always compelling presentation on Brand Echonomics, a new way of thinking about marketing and PR in this very digital world. I always love hearing and seeing Jeff speak — his background as a seasoned television news reporter and major-market anchor clearly shows in his polished, effortless delivery and appeal.
And thanks as well to Dr. Clint Herzog, founder and CEO of the renowned FLOSS Dental Group here in Texas. That was the first time I’d actually met Clint, but I’ve seen him countless times in advertisements and have heard so much about him that I looked forward to finally getting to meet the man and hear his message. He certainly didn’t disappoint with his very moving story about personal transformation and its very fundamental and essential role in business transformation.
I wish I could say that I have plenty of pics, and honestly I did have lots at the last Summit back in February, but I think this time around I was so laser-focused on my own presentation that I completely zoned out and forgot about everything else, including photography and even social media itself. Ironic, eh? I live-tweeted the last Summit but blanked out on this one.
Still, there will be a professionally edited video of the Summit as well as those of the individual speakers, so hopefully I’ll be able to get that soon and post it here. If not, I think we’ll be getting pics of the event as well, so I’ll get them up here as soon as possible.
If you’ve been on our company site before, thank you for returning! And if this is your first time, again, welcome. I apologize for the rather stark look of the site — our website was hacked a few weeks ago and finally died a merciful, painless death, but our business has been so busy that we’ve only been able to incrementally work on the site. What you’re seeing right now is a basic WordPress theme overlaid on the content of our site, but in the next few days I hope to be able to complete the redesign, so stay tuned!
So, boys and girls, your takeaway for today is this: Back up your site. Always.
